Baby Shep is so Handsome!

How I love this little man! Aaron and I had to go out and get a couple of newborn onesis and couple pairs of pants for this little guy because he is just too small to fit in to 0-3 month cloths :) Was nice to put him in some cloths that fit today :)

Welcome Our Beautiful Son!

March 13th 2012, I wake up to a dream that my water had broken and low and behold it had. I roll out of bed went into the bathroom filled up the bathtub to calm my nerves that today would be the day Aaron and I would be placed with a new title of Mom and Dad. I called my mom to inform her that my water had broke but, I was going to stay at home as long as I could but the doctor told me I had to come into the hospital after 6 hours of home labor if that where to happen. God is good and allowed me to sleep from 4:35-7am. Aaron and I got up grabbed our bags and headed into the hospital. On our arrival to the hospital my contractions were mild and 7 minutes apart. Dr. Cousin's came in and checked me at 12:30 and I was 4 cm (as I already was the day before) and informed me that if we did not progress by 4pm we would have to start an induction. My world fell apart for a moment because of my HUGE fear of needles and with the word induction meant IV and needles.

An hour  after finding out this news of a possible induction I started instant hard labor. Contractions came on hard and strong 1-2 minutes lasting 30 seconds to 1 minute long. To top it all off I had nothing but back labor. Back labor is the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. After moving from the bed to the ball to the bath tub the pain was so intense that I ended up back in bed on my hands and knees for 3 1/2 hours just breathing through every contraction and saying in my head "you can do this, you can do this, it will not last forever, it will all be over soon." This was my way of get through this intense pain. Along with my amazing husband who put pressure on my back and rubbed it with everyone that hit. After 1 1/2 hour of this, Jenny took over for the next 1 1/2hour.  My doctor then came in and said "Ashley are you ready to push?"  I said "yes please" and began pushing.  I tried on my hands and knees for awhile and he just wasn't moving down. Then I tried the bar as a hung over the bar my whole body exhausted I pushed with what strength I had left. This was moving him down slowly. I then moved to laying on my back with my legs up, which any of you who have back labor knows this is the WORST position to be in with every contraction. After 1 1/2 hour- 2 hours of pushing and due to such intense pain in my back and a new pain caused by him crowning I gave a good last push and he came out head to toe with no pause.

What an amazing moment as I  leaned back into my husbands arms, for he was sitting behind me holding me up as I pushed, I saw the tears of happiness fall down his cheek. I realized that we had done it and I started to cry.  As I am looking at my baby in the Doctor's arms as my mom got ready to cut the cord, we say it snap in two all on its own. Dr. Cousins grabs the end of babies cord and grabbed the end of mine and says calmly to the nurses, " Give me a clamp please and take the baby." I was VERY impressed with my doctor and how she dealt with me and everything that popped up through my delivery.

But, little did I know my labor was not over. Due to bleeding my doctor was forced to get my placenta out as fast as she possible could. Which I must say is VERY painful. Pushing on my stomach and pulling pushing and pulling she pulled the placenta out. She then had to give me a shot in my leg to stop the bleeding, I did not feel it but it was more of a scare factor than anything. I then over came my fear with my mom and husband by my side...pinning me down saying you have to do this. :) As I feel her stitching me up my heart just sank to my toes of an overwhelming fear. But, it ended... and they brought us over our beautiful PERFECT son, Shep William Carr.

A feeling of love that I have never felt before came over me, a calmness, a joy, and a feeling of accomplishment filled my body as I looked into my sons eyes for the first time. Aaron and I are so blessed with a perfect little person. Oh how we love him!

Chronic Pelvic Pain!

Yesterday I decided to go for a short walk after work...bad idea... I came home made dinner sat down and could barley get back up. After the chronic pain set in, I decided to lay in the bath which brought some relief. As I got out I could barley use my legs. Shuffling to the bedroom and rolling into my bed no matter how I laid this constant chronic pain stuck with me. At 2:30 in the morning a found myself in the bath once again and then into the guest bedroom. My select comfort bed really has helped me through this pregnancy! I finally got some relief and slept off and on until I had to get up this morning at 6. Now having to get ready and go work in Mt.Vernon I have been dreading this morning for I am better than this early morning but still having to shuffle to walk. We are so close to being done! God please bring this baby soon!

Rough night!

What a rough night! Slept off and on till 3 am and then was up till 5 tossing and turning with cramps and normal pregnancy pain. Getting sick, tummy bug, going into labor? It was all unknown to me. Now this morning I am soaking in a warm bath to loosen the joints and subside the stomach pain that comes and goes with a tingling sensation in my back and legs and odd pains in preparation to make it through another day of work... The stomach pain is nothing like I have experienced so far in the contractions I have had. I assuming just a tummy bug of some sort. Going to see the doctor today I am going to have her check ears nose and throat so make sure I am not coming down with something. Oh man... What a great way to start the week:)

Bye bye Facebook:)

So giving up Facebook was much needed for me. I feel like it was becoming such a habit and I was getting to involved in people's lives and decision which I have no right to judge or tell them right or wrong. I also hated find out things like my grandpa was in the hospital from a posting rather than a phone call from family. There are many reason why I need to take a break from that over social to much knowledge of nothing important Facebook life and really take the time to focus on what matters in life, God, my husband, baby, family and close friends.

This way I can write about what's going on in my life that I feel is impotent enough for you all to know about rather then doing a quick silly post that well....doesn't really matter how many thumb ups or comments I get! I feel as if I started to rely on other peoples opinions rather then just following what I know is right and wrong. I also feel as if this will give me a since of relief in no longer judging my friends because that's not what friends do. It is not our job to judge our friends but be honest with them even if honesty hurts.

All in all I think this will be a good break for me to open my eyes to better things and people:) I am still always reachable by email or phone if anything is needed!
